THE MANHUNT GUIDE (abridged version):
The term “Manhunt†is derived from the Latin word “Manhuntaâ€, which means “silly people runningâ€. Current generations of manhunters pay homage to the ancients by playing a game that is reminiscent of the Roman people, and what they did when not partaking in gladiator warfare.
A “manhunter†is selected from a group of people through the process of elimination, those not chosen as manhunters (A.K.A. Fugitives) have 120 seconds to get away before the “manhunters†are allowed to pursue.
If a “fugitive†is unfortunate enough to be captured by a “manhunterâ€, that “fugitive†is given the option to either join the hunter collective, or suffer a more humiliating defeat (being assimilated is a far more popular choice). Any “fugitives†still liberated by the end of the set time limit are considered “freeâ€, and win the game.
Play takes place within predetermined boundaries set forth by the “Manhunt Leaderâ€. If a “fugitive†exits said boundaries, he or she must join the hunter collective, or once again suffer a humiliating defeat.
Players are identified as being distinct from the greater civilian population by the means of a highly visible armband.
All participants must remember to be as courteous as possible and try not to get arrested. If arrested, the Manhunter Collective will deny any involvement with said offender and will run away as fast as possible.
Happy Hunting
