ManHunt! Vancouver

The war between Pirates and Ninjas has continued over countless generations. Will this be the final showdown between Pirates and Ninjas? The clash will continue each day, for seven days. Each will be able to show their merit as a true Pirate or Ninja through a series of challenges. These challenges will consist of Manhunt, Ringolevio, Water Gun Fights, Capture the Flag, Dodge Ball, Sardines, Bigger the Better, and more.

We also encourage everyone to wear your best attire to the events. Eye patches, peg legs, black garb, etc. Note of caution: Be careful of running after people with fake knives or swords down the street, you might freak someone out if they think it’s real. Feel free to bring your water guns as well; however, do not shoot anyone who doesn’t want to be shot, and remember that you have to run with the thing.

We would be very grateful for any feedback, suggestions, ideas, or hate-mail. This is an event for the community, so we would like as much participation as possible.

Schedule (Everything is pretty solid now; however, there may be a few unexpected changes as well as a new location for Dodge Ball.):

Monday June 4th, 2007: Ringolevio @ the Vancouver Art Gallery (Meet on the W. Georgia Street side, by the fountain). First game: 7:30pm; second game: 8:45pm. — INFO: Ringolevio is a game very similar to Manhunt; however, there are teams and jails. We will be playing a variation.

Tuesday June 5th: Capture the Flag starting at Burrard Skytrain (Meet upper level). First game begins: 7:30pm; Second game begins: 9:00pm

Wednesday June 6th, 2007: Water Gun Manhunt @ Burrard Skytrain (Meet upper level). First game: 7:30pm; second game: 8:45pm — INFO: This is a game of Manhunt, but WITH WATER GUNS!!! Please bring your own. If it is raining, we may not be so heavy on the water guns. I would also suggest smaller guns instead of super-soakers.

Thursday June 7th, 2007: Sardines and Kick the Can!!! starting at The Art Gallery (Meet on the W. Georgia Street side, by the fountain). First Game at 7:00pm

Friday June 8th, 2007: Bigger the Better starting at The Art Gallery (Meet on the W. Georgia Street side, by the fountain). First game: 7:30pm — INFO: Bigger the Better is about trading something small, like a toy, for something bigger and cooler from strangers. The people that bring back the coolest and largest things, will win. We will provide the starting object — it’s a surprise.

Saturday June 9th, 2007: Dodge Ball @ Strathcona Park (Prior St between Hawks Ave and Raymur Ave, the one with the Strathcona Community Gardens). First game at 3:00 pm. Since it is rainy, we will play for a while, then go for coffee and chill in wonderful conversations. Phone or text me at any time to see where we are: 778-228-2441

Sunday June 10th, 2007: EVERYTHING DAY!!! starting at Strathcona Park (Prior St and Hawks Ave , the one with the Strathcona Community Gardens). First game at 1:00 pm — We will finish this week with a variety of games and chaotic goodness. We will play in the park until people get bored, so come as soon as you can.  We will play rain or shine, and we will likely go some place after to share war stories.  This is the last day of the feud between the Pirates and Ninjas after 6 days of mayhem.  This will be the last chance for each team to prove who the victor really is.
